new york-ifying a miami apartment

Even though I’m excited about the prospect of a beachy apartment (I love white furniture, driftwood, shells… all that good stuff!), I really want to try to incorporate some items that bring New York to South Beach and remind us of home.  While I would never typically decorate with things that scream NYC while living there, I think it’ll be a fun way to tie our old home in with our new one.

Here’s a roundup of my favorite New York-y things that are also in the running for decor in our new place…

1. This Annie Hall print screams NYC to me, Woody Allen is my New York Icon! from Mike Oncley, 2. I love the look and feel of this vintage style subway sign from TransitDesign, 3. This sweet, little NYC letterpress snow globe print is from 1Canoe2, 4. I saw this space on Apartment Therapy a few weeks ago and became obsessed, it actually inspired this post! The stencil is such a creative way to incorporate NYC into your home. from Jennifer’s RanchHouse, 5. Last time I was at the airport I picked up this New York City in a bag set from Muji as a little memento, 6. Sadly this pillow from SaltLabs doesn’t seem to be available anymore, but if you’re set on it I think they do custom work and there’s always a Brooklyn option here. 7.  Love this NYC illustration from albiedesigns 8. Last but not least, ZGallerie offers it’s own affordable version of the NYC subway map.

I’m having so much fun following your blog. You save me time perusing through the internet for really cool things. I love natural elements and textures and you successfully find “finds” and then place them together in a way that is clean, peaceful and striking all at the same time.

I am not hooked on your site!
