{inspired by} wayne thiebaud

If you’ve been following along then you know I attended my first Art Basel this past weekend.  It was such a whirlwind and I have so much to share with you all but I’d like to kick off the week with a dose of inspiration from one of my new favorite artists.

I came across this little Wayne Thiebaud piece aimlessly browsing through the fair on Saturday – and even though there were perhaps more complicated or glitzy works surrounding it, this one just struck me.  I love the simplicity of the subject matter, color, and brushstrokes – it definitely speaks to the book nerd in me!  When I got home, I looked into more of Thiebaud’s work and discovered that I love all of it!  Below the piece I shot at Basel are some of my other favorites that I found here.
