the well designed workspace

With my impending return to school and a big move on the horizon, I’ve been thinking about what my next workspace will look like.  As a new student, it’s important to me that it be organized, tranquil, and of course beautiful (I’m going to be an interior design student after all).  I was browsing pinterest for inspiration the other day and below are a few favorites from my home decor board.  I know each is a totally different look, but that’s where you come in! Which is your favorite? What direction do you think I should go in?!

Finally, isn’t everyone’s favorite part of going back to school shopping for supplies? I’ve included a little roundup of some of the items I’m looking forward to accessorizing my desk with this fall!

1| via rue magazine’s work space page, 2| the marion housebook’s office re-do, 3| david netto design, 4| kelley carter’s workspace from the may issue of lonny

p.s. have you checked out my current workspace yet? if not, head on over to my design milk feature and let me know what you think!

1| the “new black” pencils, 2| wisteria chalkboard, 3| nickel caddy, 4| acrylic tape dispenser,  5| walnut/porcelain desk catchall, 6| document box,  7| pyrite cluster, 8| rifle paper co. botanical journal, 9| 365 calendar, 10| walnut/brass pencil cup

I love that first one! Maybe with the inspiration board from 4 :) And I LOVE shopping for stationery and desk accessories etc – so fun!! That’s the best part about September, even though I’m no longer in school (and I always think of that line from You’ve Got Mail – “a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils”).

I’m obsessed with #4 from lonny — there’s so much to love in that image! And that little pencil holder you found is so cute — I would love that on my desk!

I like the first space the best. It’s classic, functional, open, and clean. The others are nice but small. They don’t seem as practical. Love all the picks though!
