Last week I had the pleasure of attending a panel discussion hosted by Donghia at their gorgeous showroom in the D&D building. Four of my favorite interior designers Susanna Salk, Campion Platt, Alexa Hampton, and David Scott held a discussion that centered primarily around the importance of social media and how it can make you stand out in today’s design world, emphasizing the fact that we all need to think outside the box in order to maximize our businesses.
First off, I want to start by saying that I absolutely love how forward thinking Donghia is when it comes to social media. It always shocks me when a company has virtually no online presence (which happens often), but these guys have it down! Seriously, in addition to creating stunning product lines (my bed and throw pillows are upholstered in their textiles!), they are blogging, pinning, and tumbl-ing away over there…
I rounded up some of my favorite tips from each of the panelists and the discussion’s moderator/president of Donghia, Rosecrans Baldwin (I LOVE his tip, take note everyone) to share with you. I know these points are directed at aspiring designers but I think they can be interpreted for any budding entrepreneur these days – I hope you find them as helpful as I did!
