It’s yet another gray saturday out here by the beach (will we ever see some weekend sunshine?!) so I figured I’d pop in and do my version of a sun dance. New York artist Eric Cahan captures the ethereal quality of light only found in a perfect sunrise or sunset for his ‘sky series’ by using colored filters he holds in front of the lens. I’m completely enchanted by his work and of course favor the ones taken on the east end of Long Island, a spot that holds a special place in my heart. If I had my own beach house, I’d love to hang a series of these on a simple white wall…
Is there an artist you’ve found that perfectly captures one of your ‘special places’?
