All I want to do these days is peruse antique shops and flea markets. It’s not normal… A few weekends ago I stopped into the Bridgehampton Historical Society for their yearly show and spotted a pair of gorgeous English trunks. I went home and couldn’t get them out of my head, so the next day I put on my best negotiating face and went back to pick them up. Now they’re all mine!
If I had limitless funds I would’ve picked up a whole slew of pieces from the German mid-century porcelain section (if you’re interested, you can find a good bit of this on etsy here) and as I was leaving, I couldn’t stop admiring these sweet little shell sculptures. I’m on a mission for the rest of the summer to collect enough clam shells to DIY my own version.
This past weekend was a bit gloomy so again I went out treasure hunting, this time in Sag Harbor. I headed to Sage Street (a favorite among locals), Ruby Beets (my absolute favorite antique shop these days – where my mom picked up this brass sailboat), and Monc XIII (a gorgeous shop that I wrote about last week with quite high price tags). If you ever make it out East, I highly recommend you check out all three!
Have you found any gems recently? I’d love if you would share!
