In the process of decorating our new apartment, I began thinking about how ugly most of my tech products are. Though of course they’re all far too functional to live without (I’ve come to terms with the fact that we’ll never be that couple who “doesn’t own a tv”), they do a great job of taking some of the charm out of our older West Village space. Our televisions run cords all over the place, we have computer chargers and phone chargers hanging out of every outlet, and our laptops are constantly strewn on the couch or bed. Yuck.
So that brings me to today’s post… This is our first apartment that we have a landline in and I’m tempted to purchase one of those great 1920s style rotary phones. I’ve always had a serious crush and this seems like the perfect excuse! Though these are a bit out of my price range, I’m sure I can hunt something down.
Have you come across any of these beauties recently? And while we’re at it, do you have any tips or tricks for hiding some of your decidedly less charming technology?
