Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the designer show house, Holiday House and in keeping with previous years it did not disappoint! Rooms by notable design icons like Charlotte Moss, Tobi Fairley, and Vincente Wolf (just to name a few) donated their services to decorate an amazing NYC mansion top to bottom all in the name of charitable giving – the event benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Since Holiday House (along with the rest of NYC) is closed today due to Hurricane Sandy, I thought I’d give you a little sneak peek at some of my favorite “moments”.
I loved designer Geoffrey Bradfield’s take on the grand salon, inspired by Truman Capote’s classic B&W ball. And in Tobi Fairley’s “Spring Forward” room there were so many amazing pieces it’s literally impossible to choose a favorite. From the faux bois upholstery to a to-die-for pair of vintage Murano emerald lamps – each item was more perfect than the next.
Above all, a huge kudos goes to the founder and chair of Holiday House, Iris Dankner for putting her heart and soul into this amazing event for the fifth year in a row! For hours and location, visit the official Holiday House site here.
