One of my resolutions? To finally complete our mess of a bedroom! After months of ridiculous back and forth deliberation over sheets, I took the plunge and purchased the bedding I’d been coveting from the get-go. I found it on sale at ABC carpet during one of their holiday events and it was hard to say no to. It’s the first step in bringing our bedroom up to speed with the rest of our apartment and I’ve been brainstorming other items we can bring in to finish up the room. I’m getting so sick of all that bare white wall!
Below is our new Dwell Studio Modern Border bedding in the inky black I chose. Simple I know, but I think it’s pretty and classic and most importantly I know I won’t tire of it easily. If anyone has ideas of a few other sheet patterns that might look good mixed in, I’d love to know!
Here are the rest of the pieces I want to start working on bringing in next. I’m a bit bored of my simple white West Elm parsons nightstands and thought a quick fix might be to tap in some brass campaign corners. I googled to see if it’s been done but couldn’t find any examples. Do we think it would work or look weird? Next, I plan to hang these two Kari Herer botanicals above the bed.
I spotted this brass Becket rope rod/finial on Elizabeth’s blog the other day and fell in love. Is it possible to fall in love with a curtain rod? I was planning to have a curtain made in her signature print already and now I know how the end result will look. Final touches include a Stone Textile rectangle pillow to toss on the bed, braided seagrass storage baskets for under each of our nightstands to reduce clutter, and a new nailhead upholstered headboard (though I haven’t quite settled on from where). I also have a version of these gilded acanthus motif pinboards from Ballard already and I’d like to hang it above my desk.
Any other suggestions? I’d especially love your opinion on the bedding!
