setting the table

About a year ago I shared some of the items I loved most on our registry. Par for the course, I changed up just about the entire list and we are now happily living with our brand new dishes, flatware, glassware, and a myriad of other fun kitchen doodads (note to self: throw a dinner party soon). We never had nice dishes before getting married and as silly as it sounds, it does make us feel a bit more adult to set a proper table at meal times.

Below is our new table setting.  We use our all white Bernardaud Louvre pattern for everyday and instead of getting an entire set of formal china (which we simply don’t have room for in our NYC galley kitchen), we opted to layer in just the salad dishes from Bernardaud’s Frivole collection. The green and white look really lovely together! I’ve always admired bamboo style flatware so we went with Alain Saint Joanis’s Mito cutlery crafted of boxwood and stainless steel. And yes, it is dishwasher safe – I would NEVER have gone for it otherwise. The goblets are William Yeoward’s Lindsay Country Collection and the napkins/napkin ring are Juliska.

What did you/would you register for? There are a million combinations out there and I’d love to see – do share pics!

I agree I just got married this summer and I love using my china! I use it all the time. It makes an ordinary dinner seem like a party!

Love the combinations!! The silverware is my absolute favorite because it brings in a touch of modern without looking stuffy or traditional !!
