I’m typically not the type for New Year’s resolutions, as I’m a firm believer that if you want something you should go for it then and there – why wait until the new year to achieve your goals? With that said, I do think there’s something nice about the idea of hitting the reset button and starting fresh. As 2013 draws to a close, I’ve found myself daydreaming about what 2014 will be like and how I hope to spend it.

My time in school is rapidly dwindling and  I’m hoping to soak in as much information from my professors and peers this year as possible. A little bit of desk zhushing couldn’t hurt either..

We’ve already started cooking and entertaining at home more towards the tail end of this year. I hope to continue that, as it’s so much healthier (and budget friendly). Plus, it allows me to get my creative juices flowing in a whole new way – there are few things I love more than a beautiful tablescape!

Our trip to Africa this past summer left us feel revitalized and inspired. We saw some some amazing creatures and learned a ton. I’m really hoping we can make another adventure happen in 2014.

Finishing up our bedroom is a MUST this year. Scratch the no-resolution talk, this is it. Are you sick of hearing me talk about completing this project already? All that’s left is a bit of accessorizing but it must be done.

Finally, (and I know this one sounds a little crazy but hear me out) as 30 creeps up on me, I’ve promised myself to take better care of my skin. I spotted a the first hint of under eye wrinkles a few weeks ago which sent me into a panic followed by a serious Into The Gloss bender. I mean we’re talking deep into the archives… I’ve been testing out products left and right but here are the ones I’ve started to really swear by!

So that’s what I’m thinkin’ about as we move into 2014. What are your big plans for the year ahead? I’d truly love to know!

I tend to make changes and goals a few times a year versus once a year on new years…but I do love the idea of making a fresh start every January. My big goal is to get my business out of the apartment in 2014 as it’s become really chaotic living and working in the same place when work involves 100 pillow inserts, boxes, fabric rolls, and more. Then I can’t wait to get our apartment back to being a home again. I’ve also been on a skincare kick. I’m trying to switch everything over to all natural products after reading a few posts Victoria at vmac+cheese has written.

Hope you have a wonderful new years eve!

Happy happy new year! I’m definitely going to try to step back and breathe occasionally, and of course, I want to grow my business in the new year. But mostly, my plan is to be good to myself! Hope you had a happy holiday!
