lucie everett

I happened upon the work of Australian artist Lucie Everett clicking around this morning and then proceeded to spend far too much time poking around her portfolio site, tumblr, and e-shop. I hope she makes the first piece below into a for-sale print – I would snap one up in a heartbeat! I love how quirky, bright, and happy her work is, don’t you? Have you discovered any new interesting artists recently? I’m always on the hunt so I’d love to hear…

P.S. Things are busy busy over here with a few big school projects looming so I hope you’ll understand if C&S is a little slow on new content these days…

the unknown hipster diaries

A few months ago during one of plunges into the black hole that is the internet, I happened upon the website of illustrator Jean-Philippe Delhomme. His work is quirky and fun and best of all, he recently recently released a book based on his most ubiquitous character, the unknown hipster! I absolutely adore his drawing style and have added The Unknown Hipster Diaries to my list of must-haves.

Unfortunately, the first edition sold out on amazon (and everywhere, believe me, I checked) so we’ll just have to wait for the second edition to be released in March. Unless you want to spend a pretty penny on amazon for the original (over $150 already!)… Sad face.

p.s. his “about” page is classic. If you live in NYC, I’m sure you’ve come across your own version of the unknown hipster out and about…

lovely leaves

Getting back to regular programming, do you ever find yourself getting stuck on the same motif over and over in a short time before you’ve gotten it out of your system? I often look at my pins or tear sheets and see accidental patterns… This week I’ve been looking at all things leafy green. Perhaps it’s the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been having her in NYC but it feels like Spring is finally on it’s way and I can’t wait!

gray malin

As I was trolling One Kings Lane this morning I happened upon a sale of Gray Malin photographs. I’ve seen his bright beach scenes floating around the internet (wouldn’t they be fun at a summer house?) but never these adorable black and whites featuring a charming girl in her polka dot dress. If I didn’t live with Evan I think I’d snap one up in a minute. Maybe for my closet?! The first one of her admiring the Guggenheim is far and away my favorite…

note to self

Note to self, must pick up one of dear friend Sarah Tolzmann‘s gorgeous new prints! This talented gal opened up a print shop through Society 6 over the weekend and I for one could not be more excited. A few of my favorites are below (I think I’ll start with the Ciao iphone case…) but be sure to pop over to see what else catches your eye!

1. framed new york print ($36), 2. ciao iphone case ($35),  3. bobbies stationery set ($12), 4. framed sailor tee print ($36)
