wish list

Well, I took another unintentional hiatus from blogging but it turns out it was just what I needed to stay sane these last couple of weeks. With finals behind me (phew!), I can finally focus on our wedding which is in literally three weeks – CRAZY! The past month has been nothing but studying, late nights spent over my drafting table, and a million little decisions related to table cloths, candles, and flowers. Safe to say I am so ready to do this thing!

As per usual, I’ve somehow made time (you know, on my cell phone in bed late at night) to continue to scour the internet for unique, pretty little things. I think of it as an alternative to a bedtime story as it somehow makes me feel more calm to end the day searching for treasures. So here they are, my ten favorite finds in my preferred palette these days.

P.S. I feel so out of the loop, what has everyone been up to lately? Any big news?!

wish-list

1. I fell head over heels for this Vine Chandelier by Jeff Zimmerman. If you follow me on instagram, you may have noticed I discovered it in the Fortuny showroom at the D&D Building. Someday I hope to call one my own!, 2. A pretty frond pattern in a springy green makes the perfect platter for entertaining this time of year!, 3. STILL dreaming about wallpapering my bedroom in this heavenly Eskayel wallpaper titled Parlor Secrets, 4. In the hunt for wedding baubles I came across these dainty little gems. I settled on a family heirloom but I’ve still got these on my mind. 5. This quartz cuff is the perfect stand alone accessory for a coverup and bikini by the pool this Summer. 6. Another wedding related find. Isn’t this the prettiest return address stamp you’ve ever seen? I love laurel motifs and might just have to pick this one up for thank you card writing. 7. A pair of Fortuny notebooks because why not? 8. For all you fellow Lulie Wallace lovers out there, for $98 this print (and two other versions) can come home with you – framed! 9. Thinking about investing in a pair of these Soludos Derby Flats for traipsing around the city, anyone tried them out yet? 10. Since discovering the gorgeous online shop Quitokeeto, I’ve been dying to make a purchase. Though I’m quite loyal to my Diptyque fragrance, Do Son, I think I’ll give this solid perfume in Rose/Tuberose a whirl.

Mother’s Day

It’s almost Mother’s Day and this year I’m going to be ahead of the game! My mom adores bright colors and I know she’ll just love this Spring-y floral card from The House That Lars Built paired with a pretty striped scarf from Calypso. Here’s hoping she’s not reading…

What do you have up your sleeve for May 12th?

NASHVILLE

Have I mentioned I’m going to Nashville tomorrow on my bachelorette party? Yup, it’s happening! It’s a city I’ve always wanted to visit and the New York Times writing it up as the next big destination only sealed the deal. So that’s where you come in, I know some of you out there must have already been. Any great recommendations? I’d be so appreciative if you’d share your hidden gems with the girls and I!

P.S. I have the perfect playlist cued up for tomorrow’s plane ride if you’d like to take a listen (but if you don’t like the show Nashville – and I can’t imagine that would be the case – it’s probably not worth clicking through…)

SURPRISE!

As you may have already noticed, we said farewell to Chevrons & Stripes tonight and hello to Sarah Lederman Design Studio. It was a huge decision to re-brand but in the end I’d been thinking about making the change for a long time and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Fingers crossed you love it as much as I do! Please feel free to play around with the new site and let me know if you notice any bugs or issues that need to be addressed.

Above all, thank you, thank you, thank you to Sarah Tolzmann, my design guru, and the team at Cre8d Design for helping to translate my jumble of ideas into a beautifully cohesive new site.

SO guys, what do you think?!?!?!

cococozy throws

We’re supposed to get a big nor’easter tomorrow evening here in NYC and I must admit, I’m looking forward to hunkering down by the fire with Evan and the pup. I have a tremendous amount of school work to catch up on so I’ve convinced myself this will be the perfect excuse to stay indoors distraction-free and plow through it all.

In the meantime, I’m dreaming of gifting myself one of these reversible cane printed throws from fellow blogger COCOCOZY’S webshop to wrap up in while the snow falls. Isn’t the sage green (lower left) lovely?

What’s your favorite snow storm activity? Mine is a toss up between scrabble (although Evan claims I get far too competitive, ha) and Backgammon!
