eyes on etsy: yours is the earth

Yours is the earth is one of my all time favorite etsy spots for foodie art.  They have everything from prints of seasonal fruits and veggies to recipe cards, canning lids, and tea towels.  Everything they touch has this great quirky, hand-drawn quality to it and it’s all done in bright, festive colors.  I’d love to own a set of their seasonal prints to hang in my kitchen {despite the fact that we are at full decorating capacity}

happy weekend!

My 2012 has started on a great note thus far and I’m excited for what its first weekend has to offer.  We are planning on cleaning house and kicking back –  it feels good to not have much on the agenda for the first time in what feels like forever.  For my first order of 2012 business I plan on investing in a gorgeous wall calendar like the one below.  Every year I plan on hanging one but get so choosy that by the time I settle on something there’s really no point.  This year it’s all about getting down to business!

Finally, I want to thank the editors at Martha Stewart for choosing to feature Chevrons & Stripes on their blog today.  It’s always exciting to get the word out there about the site but this mention was particularly meaningful for me because Martha is one of my biggest idols.  Ya see, only good things in store for 2012!

Love this simple graphic and geometric work from etsy shop Puffed Peonies!  A cluster of these hung together would look quite nice, no?

happy weekend!

Unfortunately I didn’t get around to preparing new content for today because I’ve been super busy preparing for my trip to New York tonight!  I spent the morning packing and shooting my tabletop for the winter tabletop challenge- nothin’ like leaving things ’til the last minute!  It’s kind of my way…

Anyway, I’ll be spending this next week reuniting with family and friends {I’ve already reserved a MAG club date!}, going to my dads new bar opening, meeting with vendors for Aroc Urtu, and taking this awesome blogshop class.  Blogshop is basically a two day photoshop boot camp – check out this video from their last New York session…

how much fun does that look!?

I’ll be in New York for ten whole days so look forward to lots of new posts on art, style, etc. next week.  And of course follow along on instagram if you’d like.  Have a fantastic weekend!

eyes on etsy: anek

I’ve been looking for a few pieces of artwork to spruce up the bare walls in my kitchen recently and I’m fairly certain that these prints from Anek will do the trick.  I love that they’re simple and modern with little splashes of color.  Perfect for a space that I want to keep feeling clean and uncluttered!  Of all the foodie prints I’ve come across, these are my fave…
