current crushes

I always seem to have my eye on quite a few things but these coral, leafy green, and brass goodies are at the tippy top of my wish list right now. What are you currently crushing on?

1| i’m DYING over this 1980s yellow gold/pinkfaced rolex on 1st dibs (my birthday is coming up, any takers?), 2| this pillow is the perfect homage to the beverly hills hotel without going overboard – from whitlock and co. 3| only the chicest wastebasket ever from dransfield and ross, 4| gold leaf etagere? yes please. 5| i’m coveting a madeline weinrib carpet, 6| we all know i have a weakness for anything by mr. adler and this talitha vase is no exception!, 7| i’ll take a brass flower stuck to my lamps any day. corsage task lamp from heather garrett design, 8| is it weird that i want to frame this to hang in our home? it speaks volumes about evan, ziggy, and I! (p.s. I simply can’t seem to source this one, help a girl out?) 9| and yet another dahling goodie from Mackenzie’s sweet little shop

nicely neutral

Though admittedly I’m trying to slowly break into more colorful territory, I still can’t seem to kick my love affair with neutrals.  But you know what? I’m not sure I want to after seeing what’s out there! I’m completely smitten with each and every one of the following eight objects {and I not-so-secretly want one of those Mungo & Maud igloos in human size, please don’t judge…}

P.S. I think there are a few great mother’s day options in here, no? I know I’ll be stocking up on those scalloped gift boxes for all of my upcoming wrapping needs.

1| ferm living string candleholder,  2| straw ice bucket, 3| dotted paper vase, 4| mungo & maud doggie igloo, 5| jayson home bubble chair, 6| gift boxes, 7| country fair crock, 8| diptyque candle

what do you collect?

My parents have always been big collectors – from art glass, to bakelite, cornishware, murano paperweights, and lionel toy trains – you name it, they collect it.  I’ve never been much for the whole process – that is until I saw this image of milk glass from High Street Market the other day.  Now this, I can definitely get on board with.  If you don’t have the patience to search around for bits and pieces, I’ve rounded up a few great, summery, pre-curated collections I spotted on Jayson Home.  I think I’ll start working on hunting down my milk glass but if you go for these, I promise not to call you a cheater.  And in the meantime, if you do collect something, I’d love to know what – do share!

1| sun-bleached turtle shells, 2| bottle vases, 3| maple, walnut, & leather cutting boards, 4| petite magnifiers, 5| turquoise tealights

brass beauties

There’s nothing I love more than a little bit of sparkle in my home and brass is one of the easiest ways to achieve the look.  In fact, we’re even using some brass and copper in a new line we’re releasing as an offshoot of Aroc Urtu {I’ll share as soon as we get a chance to shoot the new pieces}!

With the skyrocketing price of gold, these materials are becoming widely accepted as quality metal alternatives in jewelry, home decor, and so much more.  I’m seriously debating purchasing those gorgeous binoculars to peek across Biscayne Bay and spy on the celebs on Star Island  watch the dolphins swim by!

1| pendant, 2| peacock shoehorn, 3| brass & horn cups, 4| binoculars,  5| turtle shell tray, 6| sunburst mirror, 7| brass bowls set, 8| quartz side table

abc carpet & home

One thing nobody tells you before you get engaged is that the minute it happens, you’re supposed to have it all figured out.  Starting approximately five minutes after Evan proposed, we start getting calls about whether we had set a date, registered, or made any plans.  In my mind, I didn’t know I was getting married until five minutes ago – so who was supposed to be making these plans?

Now that our engagement party is coming up, despite that fact that we’ve requested no gifts on the invitation we’re still being asked where we’ve registered.  It’s tough because Evan and I have been living together for a while already and we really don’t need much.  I’ve been looking into registering at places where we can find cool, creative things that we don’t necessarily need but would love to own nonetheless.  Perusing the ABC carpet & home site, there was no shortage of visual eye candy and next time in in NYC I’ll definitely have to scope out their registry options.  Does any one out there have any other creative ideas? We’re also thinking about Jonathan Adler

In the meantime, enjoy a few pieces I’m currently lusting after from ABC. Gorgeous, no?
